Sugaring vs Waxing

Why sugaring

A natural, skin-kind alternative to waxing — smoother for longer, and gentler every single time.

The method

Why Choose Sugaring?

Sugaring, sometimes called sugar waxing, is a gentle and natural approach to hair removal that removes hair from the root while being kinder to the skin.

It provides long-lasting smoothness, helps minimize irritation, and is suitable for a wide range of skin types and hair textures. With regular treatments, hair may also grow back softer and finer over time. See our sugaring prices for every area.

Gentle on Skin

Sugar paste adheres mainly to the hair, helping reduce pulling and irritation on the skin.

Long-Lasting Smoothness

Hair is removed from the root, helping skin stay smooth for longer between appointments.

Natural & Effective

Made with simple, skin-friendly ingredients and suitable for different skin types and hair textures.

The difference

Sugaring vs waxing

Both remove hair from the root, so results last for weeks rather than days. The difference is in how each method treats your skin along the way.

Before your appointment

  • Let hair grow to about 1/8–1/4 inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice.
  • Exfoliate gently a day or two before, but not on the day itself.
  • Come with clean skin, free of lotion or oil.
  • Let us know if you use retinoids or acne medication, or have recently had a peel.

After your appointment

  • For 24 hours, skip hot baths, saunas, workouts and tanning.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing.
  • Start gentle exfoliation after 48 hours to help prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Book your next visit in 4–6 weeks to stay on a smooth cycle.

Common questions

Does sugaring hurt?

Most clients find it gentler than waxing, because the paste is lukewarm and grips the hair rather than the skin. The first visit can feel more intense; it usually gets easier with regular appointments.

How long do results last?

Typically three to five weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. With regular sessions, many clients notice hair growing back finer and softer.

How often should I book?

Every 4–6 weeks. If it’s your first time, or it has been more than 8 weeks since your last visit, choose a first-visit service from our sugaring price list.

Is sugaring suitable for sensitive skin?

It is one of the gentlest ways to remove hair, which is why many clients with sensitive skin prefer it. If you have a skin condition, ask us before booking.
